Sweet Alyssa!

I had a fun night hanging at my friend Cathy's home with the kiddos while our husbands played some friendly poker. I got to snap some pictures of her daughter and they truly caught the sweet essence of her personality. Isn't she a cutie pie!!

Coming to a Jumbotron near you!

A few of us gals got together this weekend to do an overnight digi scrap! We had so much fun. (Of course we were home in time to celebrate father's day with our incredible husbands who let us get away!) We ate out at Westgate and when we stopped to take a picture for our scrapbooks (of course) a P.R. gal from Westgate asked if she could have a copy for the Jumbotrom at Westgate! LOL!!! So, next time you are at Westgate you may see some familiar faces!! It's all about the memories!!

Disney Dreaming!

2009 was our year of Disney! We went to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and on a Disney Cruise! My boys keep asking to make a Disney Book so I am getting started! I entered this into the show offs at Britt Designs. She is one of my favorite scrappers! I used one of her Disney Kits. Too cute! Seeing these pictures makes me want to go back!

More With 4 Challenge!

This is a digital layout I did as a challenge for The Daily Digi (click on name for link) It's called "More With 4". I've been so behind with my blog so my new goal is going to be to post a new layout each day. I hope this helps me to catch up on my 2009 family album. I'm so far behind! Today is organization day. I'm going to organize the homeschool room and get ready for the week! No time off for us! We had too many vacations this year! Have a happy and blessed Sunday!

My Birthday

My favorite thing about getting old is you care less about what people think (and in my case, more about what God thinks!) Some dear friends celebrated my birthday with me at Skye restaurant in Peoria, AZ. If you haven't been there, you definately should. You may want to go there on a special occasion because it is a bit fancy and pricy....but the food was delish! The best part is that they have live music in two different rooms. Our dinner reservations were at 6:30 and at 7:30 the band started playing. In another room they have a the owners singing and playing the piano. It was great fun. And yes, my friends got them to call me on stage to announce my birthday and dance. I stayed and danced the entire time! (I told you I didn't care what people think of me!)

Some pics from my birthday!

My brother Bracken, made an adorable family portrait video of our family. Great Job!!

Shamrock Farms Field Trip

Our Homeschool Group went on a field trip to Shamrock Dairy Farm! We got to take a tram all around their incredibly clean farm to see how milk is brought to production.
We even got to officially name a baby calf! Our family voted and our favorite dairy products are:
Dad- Milk
Mom- Cheese
Jake -Ice Cream
RJ - Chocolate Milk

I made a digi scrapbook page spread at www.AStoryToRemember.com below!
Too cute! If you are ever in the East Valley of Phoenix you should stop by. It was well worth it!

No husbands today

My sweet husband and a few of his friends headed to the cabin for a guys weekend. They are playing golf and poker, eating gourmet food by chef Paul, and just simply relaxing. Rob is such a hard worker and truly deserves this time away. So, for a weekend, I, and a few friends were husbandless. Anna, Cathy and their kiddos all came over for lunch and a swim. For the occasion, I made banana bread and a hashbrown quiche that was yumm-o, (even though I forgot to put in the cheese)! They brought the "kid food": hot dogs, buns, Go-Gurt, cheese sticks, chips, grapes, etc... The children had a blast in the pool. We girls even had time to get in a nice chat! Thanks for a great day, gals!

The Barrio Cafe

I love eating out and trying new restaurants and I love Wednesday's. Wednesday is date night for my husband and I, and the day we get to eat out. This past Wednesday we met Mom, Richard and Lisa at the Barrio Cafe, a gourmet Mexican Restaurant that gets rave reviews year after year. It is this dive in downtown Phoenix! However, upon entering you realize how quaint it is and, to my surprise, filled to capacity! We had the very best table side guacamole that I've ever had. (They served it with cranberries!) Weird I know, but trust me, it was De-lish!

I had the *F I L E T E de mi T I T A
Grilled filet mignon topped with a Mexican style crab, longaniza and an Ancho chile sauce
Hubby had E N C H I L A D A S del M A R Shrimp, scallops & crab topped blue corn tortillas with queso de cabra in a jocoque sauce.
Gourmet! Definately not your ordinary Mexican Restaurant!
